Who does this to their dog????
Jake -- a very sweet 11-year old boy. He was brought to a local vet hospital to be put down by his family. But before you get all sad for Jake, read on. His owner did what is known as a “dump and run.” With no heartfelt feeling for Jake whatsoever, his owner requested he be euthanized simply because and I quote, “I’m moving back east, the car is packed and there’s no room for him.” This is what years of companionship and loyalty got Jake. GRRSN was contacted; "he's too nice of a boy to let that happen," the vet said. Jake loves everyone he meets, is good with other dogs and ignores cats. He’s a nice, good-natured, happy and easy going senior retriever. He’s happy doing something and happy doing nothing. Not fully retired, Jake would be the first to say… let’s go! Jake has a dental appointment scheduled for next week, at which time he’ll have a complete senior workup and a few lumps and bumps checked out. Jake gets along just fine and we expect a good vet report. This good boy has a lot of living to do!
